This is a charming decorative oil on board painting after John Constable's (1776-1837) The Cornfield. The Cornfield was finished in 1826 and exhibited that year at the Royal Academy. This image is probably about 1920, judging by the excellent gold Rococo frame. The painting is fresh and fluid, with a vibrancy usually missing from copies, which are often stiff and tentative in their execution.
