A very finely painted smmall lidded jar in the manner of early Meissen. it is n marked with a blue D under a three lobed coronet, which was used by Helena Wolfsohn. Her copies of porclelain nf the best factories were usually of very high quality, rather like Edme Samson of Paris. This elegant little urn shows a harbour scene on both the obverse, and reverse, withing a circular reserve. the rest of the body is decorated with baroque curlicues.Unusually, it is in perfect condition. Only 13 cm tall, it is a little gem. THis mark ran form 1843 to 1878.
