Rare set of six antique solid Brazilian rosewood dining chairs made during the late Regency or William IV period. The chairs are in excellent condition and stand very solid and stable. Being rosewood the chairs are quite weighty. The timber comes from the Brazilian forests and was very rare, especially in the 19th century and it is a hardwood. The tree itself smells a fragrant rose flower when cut and hence the name "rosewood". The chairs are of typical design of the period with drop in seating. The chair backs are superbly carved all finish is original including a Bada stamp of authenticity.
