A rare antique Tasmanian Victorian era wardrobe made of rare Huon Pine. Huon pine is a very slow growing tree with some examples aging more than 2000 years old and grows only in the huon valley Tasmania. A highly figurative burl is very highly desirable and this wardrobe has plently of it. Huon pine was also favoured for its natural insect resistance and was much in demand for quality ship building.
Original features of this armoire is the original bevelled edged mirror door, with brass handles locks and key . 2 deep lower drawers neatly fitted below, again with brass handles.
