This Parisian fauteuil a la Reine is French C1770. It is perftly sound so we are selling it as it came to us. Most of our many 18th century French chairs need taking completely apart for re-glueing before being polished, paint or gilding restored, and re-upholstered and recovered, a process that usually takes about a year. We have many other 18th century French chairs, commodes, cabinets and tables in stock. From the times of the glittering Madame de Pompadour and the ill-fated Marie Antoinette, the chairs are steeped in history, and as luxuriously comfortable and supremely elegant as ever.
