A late Victorian small writing desk with five drawers. The solid heavy wooden top with ornate ogee moulding surround. Each solid wood drawer with lovely brass handles and chamfered moulding and dovetails joints. The whole supported by well turned solid wood legs and stretchers making this a sturdy piece. Late Victorian origin Australian colonial circa 1880, most likely Blackwood or Tasmanian oak.
This piece could also be used as a sideboard , dressing table or hall table due to its elegant depth. Nice patina finish .
