Ideal as a bedside or occasional table this C1815 century mahogany table has a practical St Anne marble top. The trestle legs are curved X form, and are joined by an elegantly turned spindle stretcher. The brass sabot and castors are original, as are the decorative brass skeleton escutcheons protecting the keyholes. It has two drawers. Made 'round about 1815, when the Emperor Napoleon was replaced with the Restauration of the Bourbon kings: first Louis XVIII* (1814-1824) and then Charles X (1824-1830)
*Louis XVII was the son of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI, who died in prison aged 10.
