A rare Australian cedar chest of drawers from the first half of the 19th century. Lovely original undisturbed patina finish, a value point, original turned cedar handles in the late Georgian style and original large georgian brass escutcheons. This piece is in full cedar and is extremely heavy. The fine figuring and weight is indicative of coastal cedar . Even the backing boards are made of cedar as are the drawer insides. Truly a piece of Australian history. All drawers open smoothly and have been serviced. Raised on inverted tulip legs or the Regency manner.
