18th cent carved oak linen mangle board

Antique 18th century Original Swedish rolling board mangle board used to dry and flatten linen fabrics. Traditionally these types of boards were made by the groom who would give this to his bride as a mark of respect. Hand carved it is rare and unusual that this is made of a single piece of solid oak .The carved handle and raised section underneath has all been carved from one solid piece indicating the groom's dedication to his bride to be. Nice original patina and restrained Scandinavian design. A hand wrought iron hook at the top allows for traditional hanging for display. Gustavian 1780
