This delightful, rare and decorative pair of Troubadour style "Old Paris" or Vieux Paris hard paste candlesticks were made in Paris under Louis Philippe C1840. There were many porcelain manufactories in Paris between c1780 and 1870. Nearly all moved out of Paris during the Grand Transformation, and went to the Limoges region. Paris was basically bulldozed in the 1860s and 70s so little of pre-Revolutionary Paris remains. Even the Louvre is almost unrecognisable compared with its shape in 1789. Oddly, the best museum collection of Vieux Paris is in New Orleans.(Chip to his bobeche.)
