Colonial Huon Pine and Blackwood Occasional Table C 1880 The top is a round of Tasmanian Huon Pine featuring “Spattrie" work of native fern fronds. Spattrie or Spatterwork required a high degree of artistic skill. The collecting of ferns during the late nineteenth century was a popular pastime both in England and in the colonies. The legs are Tasmanian Blackwood. Nineteenth Century patina. Tasmanian origin. $1750
