Antique Art Deco blonde burl and ebonized dining table with black elm top over blonde burl column on ebonised curved pedestal base in the neoclassical Biedermeier manner. Gorgeous Burl elm veneers surround a turned base with stepped plinth. The ebonised black elm top still shows the highly figurative grain to the hand polished piano black surface. Art Deco is from the early 20th century and was heavily influenced by the Biedermeier aesthetics dating from the early 1800's. Modern minimalism owes its design inspirations to these two periods of design. This table dates from the l20th century
