Big Gilt bronze antique French Louis XVI heavy mirror top table plateau of very large size.
These rare pieces were used as table platform upon which precious candelabra etc were presented in the centre of the banquet table. The raised section allows for more importance to the presentation item but also drawers damaging temperatures away from the table top surface, such as Candelabra, hot silver soup tureens or chilled champagne or ice buckets etc.
Heavy bronze framework with mercurial gilding and mounted upon oak panel, Plateau sur table.
