Rare vintage Swedish semi antique hand woven wool rug Rollakan carpet ryamatta original 1950's mid 20th century all hand woven. Sweden developed their own traditional weaving techniques and flat weave rollakans or ryas were highly prized possessions even from Viking times. Extraordinary colourful examples given as wedding gifts reflecting the status of the families to be joined. The Scandinavian Kelim of geometric design suits many interiors and this example in wool is double sided with intricate knots so can be used on either side.
