Rare antique Empire Biedermeier tall pier cabinet of oval drum or column shape with carved details and single door. This tall pedestal cabinet is ideal for display of busts or vases. It also allow for storage inside. The oval shape with a flat back so as to sit against a wall echoes other architectural room elements of Scandinavian 19th century tiled heating stoves. Simple and elegant in the Empire period design finished in burl walnut with contrasting ebony inlay . The convex shaped door is hinged and opens with a key to reveal lift out shelves inside Platform top measures 53x34cm
