Colonial Cedar Kit Box /Trunk C1810-1820

Important Colonial Cedar Soldier’s Kit Box/ Trunk From the first quarter of the C19TH. This kit box has a cartouche, on the lid, engraved "Corporal William Morrow 73rd Regiment." Corporal W Morrow’s kit box is of simple construction with dovetailed joins and demonstrates the use of hand forged nails, handles and straps. No use of screws. Early Flame cedar.
