Garrard sterling silver Letter Opener in the Georgian style meat skewer shape with Regency rope twist end Vintage hallmark 1968 London.. In its original presentation box, this vintage meat skewer is an ideal letter opener and has the rare rope twist ring at the top of the hilt. The rope twist was a Regency design element and was inspired by Lord Nelson and the battle at Trafalgar. It was also commonly used in Regency chair backs etc. Hallmarks are nice and clear and show the maker Garrard and Co , Sterling Silver, London, date leter for 1968. The ultimate desk top accessory.
