Important original antique oil painting after the Dutch baroque era artist Salomon de Koninck entitled The Hermit. Signed lower right de Koninck .... Mausse? De Konninck was an important painted and contemporary to Rembrandt. Born 1609 in Amsterdam he made many copies of Rembrandt's paintings wth exquisite attention to details. This painting is similar to The Philosopher with open Book, now in the Louvre. This superb antique painting is in excellent condition is an antique copy of the original that was painted in 1643 that is now the Dresden Art Museum Dutch 18th century
