French Empire walnut window seats bench

Antique French Empire window seat hallway bench with arch armrests and tapering sabre legs circa 1820's Solid walnut construction nice and sturdy with only minor signs of wear consistent with age and character. Good original waxed shellac patina finish. This type of antique window seat would have graced the formal salon to a fine home and are ideal as end of bed seats. The elegant and light design would have been made to be placed in front of a long French window yet their shallow depth of only 37 cm does not take up too much precious floor space.
