Rare antique Empire Biedermeier tall pier cabinet of oval drum or column shape with carved details and single door. These tall pedestal cabinets are ideal for display of busts or vases. They also allow for storage inside. The oval shape with a flat back so as to sit against a wall emmulates Scandinavian 19th century tiled heating stoves. Simple and elegant in the Empire period design . The convex shaped door is hinged and opens with a bronze key to reveal two lift out shelves and an upper spoon rack for precious solid silver cutlery.
