Spice cabinet wall hung Provincial 1770

Antique provincial Georgian 18th century wall hung spice cabinet with single door and drawer with hand painted patina 1770 . Rare carved arch top and baroque panel door sets this apart from other simpler wall hung cabinets. Usually made for the newly married couple these spice cabinets were given as a wedding present and were designed to keep the highly prized spices and precious silver spoons well away from inquisitive young fingers. The cupboard would have been hung from a wall in pride of place. Perfect as a chocolate box or for fancy silverware.
