Very rare antique pair Swedish Empire tub armchairs attributed to Ephraim Stahl Stockholm cabinet maker to the Royal Swedish Court. Ephraim Stahl was the most famous chair maker in Stockholm 1794-1820. He received a royal warrant from the King of Sweden in 1800 and made chairs for the Royal Palace of King Gustav III. Examples of his work are srtill located in the Nordiska Museet Stockholm as well as the royal Swedish households. These gorgeous elegant tub bergere armchairs have a wonderful curved shape and are uniquely Swedish Gustavian. Usually referred to as bath tub shaped fauteuil.
