French Louis desk chair carved armchair

Rare French Louis XV ladies desk chair armchair fauteuil a bureau with sage green velvet upholstery . It was a french tradition to use a low back armchair or bergere chair in front of a ladies escritoire or desk. The low back and raised armrests aid in moving the chair to and from the desk. The upholstered seat is made comfortable with springs and the frame is good and sturdy in ornate carved rococo stained fruitwood.
