18th century chest baroque oak trunk

Very rare Georgian carved oak flat top trunk or chest with ornate carved front l and wrought iron handles circa 1750 A rarity of this chest is its height which is original and ideal as a coffee table etc. The lift top lid is wax finished all round and retains its original patina wax polish. The trunk body with panel sides and ends all with traditional 18th century pegged joints and molded edges and again wax finished all round. Fitted with an old lock of a later date with key with wrought iron handles. The body made entirely of solid oak. Lovely warm patina with original waxed finish
