| | | | Sunday at Watheroo / August Knapp Framed black and white photograph "Sunday at Watheroo"by West Australian photographer August Knapp. The photograph (excluding frame is 19cm high and 29cm wide. The following information is from the J S Battye Library of West Australian History private archives: ‘The van Raalte Club was a photographic club formed in Perth in 1926 under the name of the Dilettanti Club. Its founder was Mr August Knapp of Perth. Knapp was a member of the WA Camera Club who felt that while the club was concerned enough about the advancement of photography, it wasted a lot of time on formal procedures. So he formed a new club whose object was to encourage the study and practice of pictorial photography using the camera as an instrument of perception rather than a mere recorder of superficial detail. Membership in the club was restricted to 12”. Circa: 1930 Length: 29 cm Height: 19 cm Price: AUD $145
