Pair Georgian armchairs carved mahogany

A large pair of English Georgian armchairs in the Sheraton or Hepplewhite manner. Fully carved in solid mahogany and with excellent original patina. The large comfortable saddle shaped seats upholstered in woven horsehair fabric. The shield shaped backs with carved neoclassical swags and urns and acanthus scrolls. Elegant carved armrests on scroll supports join the frame, all with original patina. The saddle shaped double close nailed upholstered seats raised on elegant tapering front legs and traditional 18th century sabre rear legs. Nice and sturdy. Old professional repair to one leg.
