French Ivory crucifix Paris 1730's

Antique French 18th century crucifix carved ivory on velvet with gilt wood cross and mounted in carved wooden frame. The original carved figure of Christ in Ivory is of early to mid 18th century origin and is in very good condition for its age. This is mounted on a water gilt burnished cross fitted to a rouge velvet backing. The original 18th century frame in carved and gilded wood of the Regence period 1715-1723 France. The back of the frame bears the sepia mark of noted Ivory specialist in Paris C. Ricoux 32 Rue la Boetie Paris .
