Large carved French Louis armchair 1845

A well carved antique French fauteuil armchair with carved ornate rococo design. The shaped back with scrollwork crown. Armrests are firmly joined and scroll forward with superb carving . The frame showes fine traditional pegged construction to legs in the 18th century manner. Generous sized seat with ornate carved seat rail and raised on carved cabriole legs. Original silk upholstery has had some wear and is fraid due to sunlight and would be best recovered in your favourite fabric . The underneath upholstered seat construction and hand stitched edges are in good order. French 19th cent.
