Empire mahogany mirror marquetry

Tall mahogany mirror of the late Empire period Post Horn inlaid with original silvered glass, a value point. The two panels of mirror surrounded my well moulded mahogany frame with square cabuchon details. The top of the mirror with a Chapeau de gendarme pediment featuring the most unusual marquetry inlay in cherrywood. Traditionally these horns were the well recognized sign of the postman announcing that mail had arrived. French or Northern European 1820
