Biedermeier Blonde pedestal desk 1830

Large antique 1830 blonde walnut Biedermeier desk. Well polished and unusually blonde walnut veneered all round so it can stand in the middle of a room. This signifies that this piece was made for the nobility with large stately rooms. The twin pedestals with a flight of three drawers on the left side and a central drawer and a false 3 drawer front door to the right hand side. Tooled leather top and bronze shiled shaped escutcheons. Each drawer with its own key, which is traditional to open and close the drawers with. The whole raised on taper legs. South German circa 1830
