Pair Neoclassical urns 18th cent iron

Vary rare pair of heavy cast iron neoclassical late 18th century Imperial Russian vases. Finely worked bulbous body with cast neoclassical elements in the Wedgwood manner. These unusual urns have different ornamental sculptures to each side and have applied neoclassical Medusa head handles to each side. The rim of each vase is nicely worked and the whole is mounted on a stepped quire base, held together by a hand cut square nut and thread. Unique cast precision iron. Late 18th century.
