A pencilled note inside reads "Miss Myers cabin 68 Ss Neptuna". The Ss Neptuna was built in Kiel in 1924 and from 1935 to 1941 was on the Far East to Australia run mainly carrying first class passengers and cargo. From August 1941 to February 1942 it was used by the Merchant Navy as a troop and munitions ship. In February 1942 it was bombed by the Japanese in Darwin harbour and because of its cargo exploded and sank.
