English Hallmarked Silver Card Tray 1926

A lovely quality, very heavy gauge Sterling Silver Card Tray with hallmarks for Birmingham 1926 & maker: A C Bloxham Ltd (Manufacturing Silversmiths). More than just a particularly fine quality card tray, as inscribed; It was gifted to a Mr. C. W. Garnette "With the Gratitude & Thanks of The Great Western Railway Co with the title "General Strike 1926". The 1926 general strike in the United Kingdom was strike that lasted nine days. It was largely over Coal Miners Wages and conditions however brought the Railways to a grinding halt. Several examples have come up for sale but none this fine.
