Oval gold leaf wall mirror carved frame

Vintage oval shaped French Louis XVI mirror with ornate carved gold leaf gilt wood with acanthus scrolls circa 1950's. Oval shaped mirrors were highly popular at the beginning of the 20th century. The demand for good quality frames has not diminished since. The ornate frame is covered in original gold leaf. This lovely detailed carved mirror may easily be changed over from portrait view ( high ) to landscape view ( length wise) just by changing the attached hook to the later replaced backing.
