Rare antique blonde Biedermeier settee of Karelian birch with parcel ebonized detail and comfortable upholstered seat and back. The architectural design with rasied arched pediment and ebonized panel to back. The elegant curved edges join the solid sturdy armrests. These are further enhanced by neoclassical column fronts in solid Karelian birch. Karelian birch is a very rare wood and growns very slowly producing highly figurative knotty grain. It is only grown in present day Finland and remains very precious. The sides with padded upholstery inside and with Karelian birch exteriors.
