French longcase grandfather clock 1762

Antique French 18th century longcase clock dated 1762 grandfather clock comtoise 8 day clock and lovely bell chime. Works well and is in original condition. This superb clock case dates from 1762 and has that date inscribed at the very top of the Gothic carved crown. The clock case with glazed door and two lift out side panels for easy servicing. The door to the pendulum and weights case with with ornate carved panels and pegged construction and pendulum window. Good original finish in blonde waxed oak. The 8 day comtoise mechanism now in place has replaced the old 1 day works
