Carved oak trunk Cassone chest 1720 box

Antique Georgian 1720 oak flat top trunk cassone chest with ornate carved panels and lift top with later adaped panel door front. A rarity of this antique oak chest is its small size which is ideal as a coffee table etc. The lift top lid retains its original patina wax polish. The trunk body with panel sides and front all with traditional 18th century pegged joints and carved edges. Fitted with an old conversion of a front hinged panel as a door, an adaption that makes it very usefull and with wrought iron handle. A lovely warm patina with original wax colour.
