South German bureau desk 1815 Empire

Wonderful antique blonde escritoire secretaire or fall front bureau desk in superb original condition circa 1815. The simplified experior is anything but. The satinwood string inlay and crossbanding with vertical veneered facade and minimalist stedded block feet. Elegant shield shaped escutcheons with original working locks and ket. Beautifully fitted with internal drawers with ormolu mount and central door with lock and key and polished brass knobs. The fall front has its original internal steel hinges opens with a steel key. An inlaid leather cover at back of the desk covers the hinges
