Blonde Scandinavian chest of 4 drawers

An antique Danish Empire straight front chest of 4 drawers. The solid blonde oak body with four drawers. The top drawer with traditional 18th century Gustavian reeded molding cartouch and ornate bronze escutcheon and working key. The top drawer is usually reserved for lacework and other finery and of shallow design and is opened in the traditional manner with the push pull key to working lock. Three graduated sized drawers below with solid bronze empire knobs and working locks. All drawers are fitted with original working locks. Raised on elegant neoclassical tapering legs.
