Georgian secretaire bureau desk 1750

Rare antique Georgian period secretaire bookcase drop front desk with fitted interior mid 18th century English. Two mirror front doors open with a steel key to reveal an adjustable pair of bookshelves. Two slide-out candle stands below the doors to reflect light makes work brighter. The fold down slope top desk reveals a central door flanked by two pilaster column front secret compartments and 4 fitted drawers with arcaded pigeon holes above. A gorgeous gilt tooled leather top completes the desk beautifully. Desk surface when open is 74cm high, 94cm wide. George II circa 1750
